Seems to work very well, but I did strip some heads... Aug 04, 2011
By John A. Neal III I have been repairing some gutters that were probably installed 30 or 40 years ago. The installation doesn't have fascia boards. The spikes were driven directly into the roof joists but many had slowly worked their way out over the years. For those, all I had to do was work out the old spikes and replace them with gutter screws. In general, the screws went in smoothly using an electric drill and seem to hold very well. I am very pleased with the result. They are an easy, strong replacement for spikes. However, I did have a bit of a problem with stripped heads. The gutter screws come packaged with a two ended drill bit. One end is a Phillips head screw driver and the other is a small square bit driver. Both drivers will work on the screws but I got the impression that the drill bit is poor quality. Out of about 30 screws I put in, three or four reamed out both the Phillips and square bit heads. It appears to me that the bit failed and proceeded to ream out the screw head. Anyway, that is why I am giving it four stars. Otherwise, these gutter screws are an excellent solution for spike replacement.

Great bang for the buck Oct 18, 2010
By S. Fleckenstein I have a 20 year old house. The metal leaders and gutters are in good shape with the exception of the gutter spike nails constantly backing out of the wood. These screws are my solution. Each package of screws included driver bits to use with your drill. They were less expensive than screws offered by competitors. The company selling this product did a good job with packaging and shipping. For about 85 percent of the spike locations, all I had to do was remove the old gutter spike and replace it with the new screw. In a few locations the nail holes were too large and I had to create new screw holes. Out of 40 screws I stripped the heads on two of the screws, probably due the awkward position of myself, the ladder, and obstructions, not the quality of the product. This product met my needs and then some.
7" White Gutte Screws Dec 07, 2011

I rate at a 4-star simply because I have not yet used any... could well be a 5-star.
The quality looks to be equivalent to the items I have purchased at the "big box" home stores..and these cost less.
The head on these screws is different and utilizes a "new" Phillips-head design, or what appears (from memory) to be a smaller rectangular (not sure it isn't 5 sided) screw driver. This may be a plus-or-minus, again I haven't yet used, thus the 4-star.
