ACR was developed for the aerospace industry to avoid costly head stripping and to assure easy insertion and removal of screws during assembly and maintenance. The ACR system creates a stick fit that makes screw driving easier. There are ribs on the driver bit that seat on a ledge within the recess. This provides more driving torque, allows off-angle driving and greatly reduces stripping of the recess. All ACR screws can be driven with standard driver bits. However, to obtain the benefits of ACR we recommend the proper ACR driver bit included in many of the packages and sold separately.
